We’ll have a phone conversation to get some details about the project you have in mind and listen to your goals. We’ll set up a time to meet at the project site so we can see the space and find out more about it.


During the meeting, you’ll tell us about your vision and we’ll discuss the project and your budget to see if we’re a good fit. From there we will take photos, and measurements so that our team can generate a preliminary proposal. At this point we will discuss a design fee based on your project.


We will provide a detailed estimate for every step of the project from demolition to completion. At this step, you will review the proposal and if acceptable, sign and agree to the terms. We will upload drawings, photos of components including fixtures, cabinets, and finishes to CoConstruct, our web-based construction management software, and you can sign in to see them and communicate with us about choices and decisions.


Once all submissions have been approved by you, we will coordinate with our team, vendors and contractors to create a construction schedule and timeline. Design details, components and pricing will be finalized.


We will use CoConstruct to track the progress of your project and communicate throughout the construction process.


At Black Locust Builders we take care of your home during the construction process, like we would our own. We put down floor, wall and other types of protection to ensure that the existing areas are not damaged. Taking the time to prepare and protect the affected areas of your home is important to us. At the completion of the project, rest assured that we will clean up, debris will be removed and the affected areas will be professionally cleaned.
